About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a leading organisation delivering complex projects within live data centre and mission-critical environments across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of high-value mechanical, electrical, infrastructure and construction projects from inception through to completion.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the full project lifecycle, managing multidisciplinary teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of major CAPEX and infrastructure projects within operational data centre environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from initial client engagement and scope development through design, procurement, construction and handover.
  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams, contractors and specialist subcontractors.
  • Taking ownership of programme delivery, budgets, commercial performance and project profitability.
  • Managing risk across technical, commercial, operational and health & safety disciplines.
  • Ensuring full compliance with CDM Regulations, statutory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact between clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Reviewing project documentation, programmes, RAMS, permits and health & safety plans.
  • Driving project governance, reporting and quality assurance throughout delivery.
  • Supporting tender processes, bid development and project proposals.
  • Identifying future project opportunities and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Producing financial reports, forecasts and project performance updates for senior stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who thrives in technically challenging, fast-paced critical environments.

You’ll ideally possess:

  • Extensive experience delivering projects within data centres, mission-critical facilities or complex M&E environments.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept through to successful handover.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, margins and financial reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations, construction health & safety and risk management.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive projects to successful completion.

Essential Experience

  • Large-scale project management within data centres, mission-critical, construction, M&E or critical facilities.
  • Experience delivering projects in live operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and building services infrastructure.
  • Experience managing bids, tenders and project commercial activities.
  • Proven leadership of project delivery teams.
  • Experience managing project P&L and financial performance.
  • Exposure to ICT, white space or critical infrastructure projects would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC/HND or recognised qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction or Engineering.
  • Formal Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification desirable.
  • SMSTS and additional CDM training would be advantageous.
