About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading organisation specialising in data centre and mission-critical infrastructure to recruit an Installation Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on engineer to work on a wide variety of installation projects within some of the UK’s most advanced critical facilities. You’ll be involved in delivering infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, refurbishments and remediation works across live data centre environments.
Based from the Nottingham office, you’ll travel regularly to customer sites throughout the UK, working alongside experienced engineers on technically challenging projects while receiving ongoing training and development.
The Role
As an Installation Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of mechanical and infrastructure installation projects within mission-critical facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Measuring, planning and installing aisle containment systems.
- Installing hot and cold aisle containment solutions from a variety of manufacturers.
- Installing and upgrading IT cabinets and associated infrastructure.
- Supporting the installation of PDUs, environmental sensors, intelligent locking systems, rack-mounted UPS units, network switches and water detection systems.
- Carrying out complete data hall strip-outs and refurbishment works.
- Installing cable tray, trunking and containment systems.
- Completing on-site fabrication and bespoke modifications where required.
- Assisting with condenser installations and rear door heat exchanger installations.
- Supporting electrical cabinet installations, cable throughways and associated mechanical works.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality while working within live operational environments.
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on engineering work and wants to build a long-term career within the rapidly growing data centre sector.
You’ll ideally have:
- A practical, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Professional communication skills and a strong customer-focused approach.
- Mechanical, electrical, construction or installation experience (desirable).
- Previous experience within data centres or other critical environments would be advantageous, although not essential.
- A willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

Qualifications
- No formal qualifications are required.
- CSCS Card is advantageous but not essential.
- Full training will be provided, including support to obtain relevant site certifications and industry qualifications.
